dESPair
Mountain Lake Experience

A millionaire chartered our AN-4 Colt, THC-008, and we are now
in responsibility to take him up to a mountain lake high above Meiringen.
.

The approach and the landing both are impressive and require quite a bit of feeling for the Antonov. So you might want to fly a few test rounds in the old lady, prior to jump into the adventure.

Take off
You need to contact the last PIC of the Antonov (check the hangar) and start your trip from the current location. Fly the THC008 from there to hte Laxalp high above Meiringen LSMM. The picture shows the approach for the landing at Laxalp.

Perform the flight
Of yourse you operate along the dESPair guidelines you certainly have read twice... and please, don't make our customer barfing all the time. He's richt and we don't want to bug him out of our reach, do we?

Fly savely, smooth and turn soft. Give him a good view over the alps and the valley below you.

See some hints to the right -->

Landing
He wants to land in Meiringen LSMM and then proceed to Thun/Bern and Zuerich by ship and train. Give him a nice touch down after a last turn over Meiringen.

Reporting back
Within 12h you need to log the flight as SWTHC-9000 and supply the trip name "Mountain lake Experience". In the same time, send the Headquarters some (JPG compressed) screenshots of the flight.

Hints & Tricks

Getting to know the area:
Before you request this
adventure, please make sure
you know how to land on a
small mountain lake. You
better fly a bit over the
swiss alps, and get a feeling
for this topography.

Approach
Approach
You need to get a knowledge
about how the default water
texture looks from a given
altitude. Because we have no
a/c shadows in XP, it's
pretty difficult to estimate
the height of the lakes.

Landed on water
Landing
Land slow, as slow as possible,
and after touch down, immediatedly
begin to turn the aircraft, otherwise
you end on the ice shelfe. And we
would need to organise a rescue
flight for you!

Take offTake off
Make sure the "Water pipe" points
perfectly to the middle of the lake.
On such small water areas you don't
have much time to correct heading
once you're accelerating.

DON'T DO THIS:
Stranded on ice
Because we will need to send you a rescue troop... I was hacking the ice for hours before I got her free again.
