2) Modification
You may not modify the aircraft files unless you have the expressed permission by the author.

You may not use a non-official modified acf for official flights. Send the modifications to the original author. He will review them and eventually order an upgrade of the aircraft at the central acf repository.

As long as you keep the modification for your own enjoyment and on your computer, you can do what you want with them.
